All Riding Levels Welcome: At Skyline Guest Ranch, we believe that the joy of horseback riding should be accessible to all. Regardless of your riding experience or ability level, you are warmly welcomed to join our Western Riding Week. Our knowledgeable guides are not only skilled equestrians but also adept at tailoring the riding experiences to accommodate your individual comfort level. Whether you're a seasoned rider seeking an exhilarating adventure or a novice looking to explore the beauty of the Old West on horseback, our team is dedicated to ensuring that your time with us is enjoyable, safe, and unforgettable.
Bliss Pass Expedition: Bliss Pass offers a remarkable trek through vibrant wildflower meadows, leading to a mountain pass that provides unique perspectives of upper Slough Creek and Pebble Creek. The meadows serve as a prime spot for observing Yellowstone National Park's diverse wildlife, from mule deer and elk to moose, black bears, and grizzly bears. Keep an eye out for non-native mountain goats on rocky mountainsides. Starting at the Warm Creek Trailhead, the trail involves an initial uphill climb to a forested ridge, reaching an elevation gain of just over 1,000 feet. Descend steeply to the meadows by Pebble Creek, riding through lush meadows with steep mountains on either side showcases some of Yellowstone's finest scenery. The ascent to Bliss Pass involves a 1,300-foot elevation gain with a series of steep switchbacks. Traverse an open mountainside, marked by remnants of the 1988 Yellowstone fires and the chance to savor huckleberries. Bliss Pass surprises with a flat terrain, two small lakes, and a mix of pines and firs hindering expansive views. At the summit take in views of the slough creek valley, pebble creek valley, cutoff mountains, etc.
