Join Western oil painter Madelynn Mutter for an immersive art retreat where horses, cattle, cowboys, and the wide-open Montana landscape become your inspiration. Gather authentic references, study horses and the landscape from life, and experience the moments that make Western art so compelling firsthand. Through exclusive cowboy and horse modeling sessions, horseback rides, painting demonstrations, and guided studio time, you’ll learn to look beyond simply recreating a reference and instead discover the story, light, movement, and emotion within it. Each spring, join artist Sarah Dean in the rolling foothills of the Beartooth Mountains of Montana for a one-of-a-kind creative retreat that blends the beauty of Western landscapes with the rhythm of ranch life. Guests will enjoy an authentic camping adventure, enjoy gourmet camp-style meals, and spend each day painting from life in a spacious white wall tent surrounded by sweeping views and grazing horses and cows. Between painting sessions, guests can ride out through the foothills, watch the cowhands at work, and soak in the beauty that fuels so much of Western art.

WILDLIFE ART ADVENTURE
Skyline Guest Ranch is honored to host internationally renowned wildlife artist Carla Grace for an immersive six-day, seven-night retreat in the heart of Yellowstone National Park. More than a painting workshop, this experience is a creative journey and adventure, designed to help artists connect deeply with the landscapes and wildlife that inspire their work. Guests will spend an average of six hours each day painting, with the rest of the time devoted to unforgettable moments in the field, observing, sketching, and photographing Yellowstone’s incredible wildlife and scenery. By drawing from firsthand experiences rather than relying solely on photographs, artists will capture the true essence of their subjects. From the moment you reserve your spot, your training begins, culminating in a week that will enrich your artistic voice, deepen your connection to the natural world, and inspire creations for years to come.
